Minutes September 16th, 2012

I.               Call to order
a.     President Sarah Johnson calls the meeting to order at 7:00 PM
II.             September Musicale – email Sarah for signups
III.           President’s Report
a.     Bylaws Committee presentation
                                               i.     Sarah will e-mail a copy of new bylaws with the (minor) changes in red.
IV.           Officer Reports
a.     VPM Report – Ellie
                                               i.     RECRUITMENT! Pixar – Animate your life with SAI!
1.     Hannah’s
a.     Finding Nemo Date: Sept 20th, 6pm
b.     Shopping list: Napkins, blue kool-aid, plastic fancy glasses!, veggie tray, balloons
c.     Décor: Alison volunteers to help Hannah put up streamers, balloons, cutting room decorations
d.     Activities: Beach ball game
e.     Goodie bags: Swedish fish and blue cellophane bags
f.      Setup: Jalen and Abi will go to Hannah’s early
2.     Baur Room
a.     Toy Story Date: Oct 2nd, 6pm-10pm
b.     Goodie bags?
3.     Formal Dinner/Suzanne’s
a.      Ratatouille Date: Oct 6th, 6pm
                                                                                                     i.     To avoid homecoming football traffic, should we change meeting time to 5:45 on invitations?

2.     Emma volunteers to assist Hannah with designs/contacting Hometown Threads

                                            iii.     Emma to contact Sue Conrad regarding double signatures on checks.

                                               i.     Yearbook in the works!
1.     Due November 1st
2.     Alison will send an e-mail around for yearbook information (name, preferred contact, year, performance area, individual awards)
3.     Pictures aren’t required. We seem to agree that we don’t want to include them.
f.      Sergeant-at-Arms’ Report – Katie
                                               i.     Katie reads the new Attendance Policy according to our new PO.
V.             Committee Reports
a.     Fraternity Education Report – Katie
                                               i.     Song schedule: Pan & Canon for the formal dinner
b.     Fundraising Report – Jen
                                               i.     Bake sale a HUGE success!
                                             ii.     Jen is of the opinion that we should make a big poster advertising bake sale, to give people a little more context. Jalen volunteers to get crafty.
                                          iii.     Next bake sale: Monday, Oct. 1st
1.     Halloween theme?
                                            iv.     Café Momus – Oct. 10th
c.     Social Report – Tara
                                               i.     Tara will send out an email with information about how to sign up for your event planning slot!
                                             ii.     Football on Saturday, October 13th – 7pm
1.     Officially un-official.
2.     Tara volunteers to host a pregame party at her house. (We’ll figure out a time later.)
3.     Bring laptops to October 7th meeting and we will order tickets as a group.

d.     Community Service Report – Abi
                                               i.     Ronald McDonald: Abi talked to Lisa, who is super excited. This will probably happen on a weekend in mid-March.

a.     Katie has a new fundraising idea: Caroling for a Cause! On campus/rich neighborhoods?
b.     Composer Concert – Hannah, Oct 18th
                                              i.     Oct 1st deadline for performers and piece
                                             ii.     We have two submissions!
                                            iii.     Committee: Alison, Abi, Hannah, Emma, Jen.
1.     Sarah emailed MTMS, Dr. Hoffman, NKU sisters
2.     Committee will meet this week to discuss advertising.
c.     Commission piece
                                               i.     Sarah in contact with Lindsey Jacobs
d.     SAI Recital
                                               i.     We discuss options for recitals, including and outdoor concert or flash mob.
