I.               Call to order
a.     President Sarah Johnson calls the meeting to order at 1:12 PM
II.             President’s Report
a.     (New) National President Leslie Odom Miller PDF presentation
                                               i.     Announcing the new Chairman of SAI Philanthropies, Inc., Sharon Womack Doty; and our new Regional Officer, Tracie Weigal Withrow
III.           Officer Reports
a.     VPM Report – Ellie
                                               i.     RECRUITMENT! (Budget: $400; see full shopping list below)
1.     Katie’s apt. (65 West) – Up Date: September 8, 6:00
a.     Menu: “Paradise Falls” food?
                                                                                                     i.     Food: Puppy chow (Sarah), Mac n’ cheese (Katie), Fruit/veggie tray, chocolate mik, soda (Alison)
b.     Activities: Balloon meet n’ greet, photo booth?
c.     Décor: Balloon wreath (Sarah), music from Spotify
d.     Goodie Bags: Pencils (red and white), SAI info sheet
2.     Burnett Woods – Bug’s Life Date: September 15, 11:00 (meet by CCM)
a.     Menu: ‘Dirt pudding’ and pie, (Sarah and Emma), salad, regular/veggie burgers, water
b.     Activities: Frisbee (Emma and Sarah), Twister (Ellie)
c.     Décor: Picnic table cloths,
d.     Goodie Bags: Rose stickers, SAI info sheet
3.     Hannah’s – Finding Nemo Date: Thursday, Sept. 20, 6:00
a.     Menu: Swedish fish, Goldfish, shell pasta, mocktails (blue sprite/kool-aid?)
b.     Activities: Make bracelets (cute fish beads!), Table Topics
c.     Décor: Blue streamers, blue balloons
d.     Goodie Bags: (?)
4.     Baur Room – Toy Story Date: (changed due to Renee Fleming concert; flyers should say TBA)
a.     Menu: Order pizza, then potluck: Seniors – desserts, juniors – chips, sophomores – drinks
b.     Activities: Movie, no-sew blankets
c.     Décor: Just have people bring blankets/pillows/etc. for movie viewing
d.     Goodie Bags: Quarter machine rings, info sheets
5.     Formal Dinner/Suzanne Powell’s – Ratatouille Date: Friday, Sept. 28th, 6:00 (meet by CCM) (by invitation)
a.     Menu: Ratatouille and pasta. We should bring premade garlic bread, desserts, and mocktail supplies to Suzanne’s.
b.     Activities: Pass the rose
c.     Goodie Bags: BIDS!, roses
                                             ii.     Fliers for recruitment: Will list dates, themes, times, meeting place, blurbs about each event (Hannah)
                                            iii.     FB events: Logo from the shirt as cover photo (Don’t use the word ‘rush’)
                                            iv.     Shirts: Get shirts for both actives and new girls by formal dinner (Sept. 28th)
                                             v.     Goodie bag crafters: Ellie, Tara, Emma
                                            vi.     Storm the Dorms: Wednesday, 6 PM! Wear SAI shirts, buttons, etc.
b.     VPR Report – Hannah
                                              i.     First official meeting of the year: Sunday, Sept. 2nd in room 3225
c.     Treasurer’s Report - Emma
                                               i.     Current balance: $1,511.74
                                             ii.     Dues: $105 per semester
1.     Emma moves to divide payment in half per semester ($52.50 per semester or full payment up front)
2.     First payment due by October 26
3.     **We don’t want finance to be an issue, so we need to be very clear at rush events that we (Emma) are open to discussing payment plans.**

                                               i.     Momus – dates: Wednesday October 10th, Thursday December 6th (both at 8:00 PM) WE MUST BAKE!!
                                             ii.     Pancakes?
1.     Jen is opposed; enthusiasm petered out and it’s time to move away from a weekly approach. (However, Ellie has lots of Bisquick left so we should have a SAI pancake social event.)
                                            iii.     CCM Prep flower sales
1.     Dates for prep events: October 13, November 3 or 4 (TBA), November 10, December 7 and 8, possibly December 10, December 12
a.     Conflicts: November 10 – Street Scene tech week, December 7, 8 – Feast of Carols
                                            iv.     Yogurt Vi – Must plan date 4 weeks in advance. September 10 or 17? Fundraising works just like B-dubs; 15% of the profit if we give out lots of fliers.
                                             v.     Monthly bake sales/bake offs in the Atrium. First bake sale: Sept. 10th (Same date as Yogurt Vi = more opportunity to advertise)
c.     Social Report – Tara
                                               i.     Tara has the idea that the social planner’s duties should be divided up so that we can have more social events with less stress; we should take turns hosting events and try to have one every 2 weeks. (All of this can start after recruitment)
                                             ii.     Event with Sinfonians
                                            iii.     Clothes Swap: date TBA (Alison and Tara)
                                            iv.     Crafts
                                             v.     Holiday Party: Ellie’s house – during exam week?
d.     Community Service Report – Abi
                                               i.     We should do Ronald McDonald again this year. Will work better second semester.
                                             ii.     Little Sisters of the Poor nursing home performance?
                                            iii.     Melody Mates: Mentoring program meets Monday afternoons; Hannah will send out the application
V.             Old Business        
a.     Extra Bisquick Party TBA!
VI.           New Business
a.     Composer Concert: October 18th
                                               i.     Committee: Alison, Abi, Hannah, Emma, Ellie
                                             ii.     Décor/mood: We wear all black, attendees wear semi-formal; decorate with shimmery tablecloths, vases with single roses?
                                            iii.     Talk to PMA for composers’ contacts; set date for Call for Scores; give composers the roster of performers and leave it to them to contact/
                                            iv.     Online ticketing or e-mail reservation system? $5 presale, $8 at the door
                                             v.     Advertising: Get this outside CCM. Go to student government, get a notice on Blackboard/Crimson Record
                                            vi.     Food: Sweet, then savory, then drinks. Catering might be expensive; buy appetizers/etc. from Trader Joe’s or Kroger
